Default Budget kit vs budget build??

Currently have stock everything on my 13 street glide. I like the idea of a kit so I can plug and play. I used to do car audio back in the day so I know it’s not the worst but like the convenience on a kit.

Goals: I don’t need to be the loudest guy around with best sounding stuff but would like to be able to hear this thing on the highway. I’m looking for an upgrade from stock but also keep it budget friendly and simple!! I don’t want to be tweaking Settings etc. I’m sure that’s just me being nervous and I can find great baseline settings and be perfectly content. Just want an amp with speakers in my fairing and possibly upgrading to lowers later but if I’m satisfied with the fairing speakers I probably won’t bother.

rockford Fosgate: they have lots from 299-550-870 bucks. The 4 channel amps are wired for front and “tour pack” couldn’t I redo this for lowers instead of a tour pack? How drastic are the differences in sound etc on these kits? 870 is steep and idk if the 299-500 dollar kits are worth it. Doesn’t seem like it.

hogtunes, are they still iffy and having issues with there’s stuff? At 429 shipped they are the cheapest but I’ve read they have issues.

I could piece it together but will need some direction on brands, websites, etc. if I’m going to save a bunch and get a better product I’ll go this route. I’ve just so new to motorcycle audio and I feel out of the loops. Any and all help is truly appreciated!

thanks for any and all help!

Do not, I repeat do not go with hogtunes. You will be back on here in a few weeks asking for what to get next. Spend the money 1 time or spend more multiple times. If you did car Audio in the past you do not need/want a kit. Plug and play is just a term for marketing as you would still have to pull the seat, outer fairing, battery cover, fuel tank to run wires.

Do yourself a favor and read as much as you can on this very Forum and get some ideas together, along with a budget and come back with your questions.

Agree with Juice.. no Hog Tunes. My wife's bike had them when I bought the bike for her. I reinstalled the amp and connected the tweeters that were mounted to see what problems caused the amp to be in the saddle bag when I bought it. No problem found and though it may be Better than stock, only slightly. Boom that is installed on my CVO limited from factory is better but far from being worth the money to upgrade if it was not already installed. Biketronics pro line im told is decent for a plug and play. ($2000+) You will get a lot more for the same amount of money piecing the system together for what you want.
