To All The Knowledgeable Audio Gurus and All Others in the Audio Forum, which speakers and why?
I currently have Hybrid Audio Technologies Unity 6.5 Speakers with Legatia Tweeters in the Fairing, H.A.T. Imagine 6x9's in the Lids and PRV 6MR500 NDY-8 in the lowers, all powered by 2 Soundigital 800.4D and a 250.2D Amps and tuned with a DD DSI-2.
I think the SQ is very good but I was wondering if I can get a better SQ out of my system with new speakers and if so which ones are recommended?
I would like to stay with one brand or another depending whichever are the best sounding speakers on a Harley.
Any and all replies are welcome.
Thanks.
Mike

Why would you want to stay with one brand? If they are paying you I get it but lots of guys have success mixing and matching depending on needs and locations
Very happy with my MMATS PA601cx's in the fairing. Using their MD4110 amp as well so only throwing them 100 watts but they are load and clear at 70+mph. Contemplating putting them in the lowers as well.

I have both the PA601cx.4s in the fairing and pa690cxs in saddle bag lids. The low end on the 6x9s is surprisingly good for a 6x9 imo. The 601s are loud and clear. Me and everyone Im riding with have no problem hearing the tunes doing 70+ at full blast.
Properly set up and tuned all the mentioned brands and many others(Faital, Powerbass, CT Sounds, DS18, Ground Zero, DB Drive, DD Audio, etc.) will sound good. The trick is to balance the sound between the lows mids and highs at speed with the power available. That's why a DSP is a must with pro-audio setups.
Each brand brings it specialty to the table in different sizes or cone volume. Some need more air space some less air space, some need more power and others sound great with 75 watts. Map out your needs/wants. Ie.. how many speakers, what size, budget, how much space for amps.? Willing to give up bag space?
As strictly my opinion regarding the speakers mentioned in the tread title, I am not at all a huge fan of the Mmats mid range 601s but a big fan of the Mmats PA601cx coaxial if crossed properly.
Similar experiences with the other brands but again not using a broad brush. Some specific Beyma or PRV mids are damn good on my ears while others not so much.
Point being, just picking a brand name and thinking ur gonna get success is rarely the case. Dive a bunch deeper into your selection process before pulling the trigger. There are gems in each brand. Garbage in each brand too.

This all comes into play.
