Default AdvanBlack 8" lids




Lids are on, no problem, but the speakers I wanted to try didn't fit. Kicker KM8 boat speakers were too small up top, and the basket was too large to fit next to the latch mechanism. What speakers are working, preferably something with a reasonably low frequency response.

Has anyone tried the JL 8.8s with this. I put a link to their specs. I measured the opening at roughly 8.5".

I’m pretty sure there’s no way a 880 will fit that lid.

When I installed 8” GZ yellow baskets in my buddies lids I had to take a die grinder with a sanding wheel and shave down the plastic on the latch mechanism to make them fit.

I wonder if the Hertz 200L will fit with no mods. Maybe a 1/2" speaker ring would help.

What amp is gonna be used to provide power to the lid speakers?

I wish someone made an angled speaker ring to make the hole point straight ahead, and allowing the basket and magnet to push to the outside.

Voodoo lids w 880s!!!! A dude with that setup just smoked like 20-something sleds at the BRF sound off. Just sayin!!!

I have a set of WDX Moto8 u could try? Also some PRV 8s that never left the box. Those and horns will do pretty well.

That setup properly tuned and powered is amazing
