CB radios. Here's some blast from the past. My old base station consisted of a Pace 1000b sidetalk with a d-104 mike, Blackcat 2000 linear, siltronix vfo, a penetrator stick and a set of moonraker 4's beams. Now how many here know what I am talking about? Since its my thread, I will highjack it. lol And yes I talked skip a lot.....
I also know some who read this will google that shixx too.
I'll be the first to admit that I have no clue about what you speak of. Clearly you know your sh*t!!
I also had a Pace base station with upper and lower sideband with a D104 Lollipop. I can't remember which amp I had. I had a stick antenna but wanted the Moonrakers.
Don't remember my call letters, but my handle was JunkYard Dog.
I was the black sheep in the family. My parents were both Ham radio operators and had a tower up on the hill on the back of their property. I think they just gave me that CB to keep me away from the Ham bench.
My Father and Uncle had a Ham radio business that they ran out of my Uncles place in Colfax NC. They had no trouble talking back and forth on the two meter band with the repeater on White Oak mountain. I never got my Ham license because at that time you had to know Morse Code to pass the test. Also I think I knew in the back of my mind that if I got certified they'd put me to work.
