That kinda blows your budget. I do agree with your choices as it will sound good.
The Stinger can be found for 240.00 shipped and the MMats can be had for 185.00 shipped. That eats up 425.00. I like the MMats so much I have just ordered a 2nd set for my lowers. I cant private message you to show you an install picture
I don't think the ability to send and receive pm's works unless you have been a member for over 30 days. (I just joined) I haven't been able to send them either. I am planning to keep my stock radio for awhile, that freed up some budget, and i would like to do it right. If it takes a little longer to get where I want to be that is ok. If and When and if the time comes to change the radio I am considering changing the inner fairing to allow a 2 din radio to add GPS capability. Where did you find the Stinger for $240?

Thank you for all of your help! Everything arrived last week and I got everything installed. Found a broken ground running to the rear rt speaker. It was pretty hard to find the break inside the soft conduit. It was just behind the steering yoke. Burned a lot of time. Everything is working, what a transformation! Since I am keeping the OEM radio for awhile I had to do quite a bit of soldering and shrink tubing. I have a couple questions. I have turned the gain up about 20% is all and I think its over powering the mmats 601.4cx in the front and the Kappas in the back at 50% volume. Does this sound right? Also I have the Stinger 700x4 sitting on top of my stock radio and the fairing is rubbing on it. It's adding too much hieght. Has anyone else had this problem?

For the mmats I have mine crossed at 100hz and the gain set to about 11 o'clock. The dirty signal from your head unit is probable the issue. make sure you turn AVC off.
Thanks, I'll give that a shot. I have pull the fairing back off. Iost the rear right speaker signal. I will adjust to match what you did and see how it goes. I think I'm very close on the gains. Do you think I should adjust the loc gains? I have an older Alpine I can try for comparison too.
I always set by ear, HPF cross them at about 100 and turn up the gain until they distort and then back them down. Make sure your AVC is off and your head unit is about 2/3 volume.
I am really about to ask what everyone is liking for a single din head unit. Yes I know I am now going to over budget. I popped my old Alpine in to try it and was amazed at the improvement over the stock HK radio. I want Bluetooth, radio, decent DSP and the ability to leverage a mini thumb drive. Should I be looking at marine radios or does it really matter?

I have a kenwood KDC-X998 and love it. It has a lot of features for a single DIN. That said it is an older deck now and not marine. If I was in the market for a new HU I would look at these two Kenwood KMR-D772BT and the Sony MEX-m100bt Sonic electronix Has the kenwood for 169.00 with free 2 day shipping.
