You know you're learning when the answers to questions lead to new questions.

My biggest takeaway is to be patient.

I don't want to release any magic smoke. Juice says all the parts work way better if the magic smoke stays in the parts.

I'm anxious to start doing something, especially after hearing Juce's rig.

Definitely sounds like you are in good hands.
Take your time. Pick your gear wisely. Take your time on the install, and you should be rocking before you know it. $2500 sounds like a more than adequate budget to get it done right the first time.

My electronics professor in collage would say FM does not stand for "Frequency Modulation" but fricken magic. Once you let the FM out of the electronics there done!

Use a fuse and you should be fine. Just use a fuse for the correct amps that will blow before the eqt...
