I thought I'd read about a way to test each speaker by holding down power/mute button while booting the audio system. This does open up a diagnostic system, but I can't find a way to isolate and test speakers.
The system is likely getting changed out this winter, maybe sooner, but until then I don't mind changing out a bad speaker, just need to isolate them and make sure I'm yanking and replacing the right one.
I usually just listen for the speaker that is crackling or not working and change it after confirming wiring etc is good.
Yeah, I'm having a hard time isolating it. I'm wondering if it might be overall distortion of bass notes by my boom system. The boom systems are notorious for low end distortion.
