Default Front speaker 2 pin connector

So maybe I'm a bit confused. I commented in another thread about wanting to replace my front speaker connector/s that were cut off by a car audio place last year. DSM mentioned drag specialties has the 2 pin connector with terminals on their site.

I also thought maybe I could get the OEM part either from my local dealer or surdyke. I got the part number from surdyke. 69200752 Wire Harness is the part number.

My confusion is: is there two 2 pin connectors for the front speakers? The BT355 has two connectors, so I guess I'm assuming ill need two. Is this correct?

Thanks.

Yes there is 2. 1 two pin connector for the left output and 1 for the right.

Dumb question. Why are the front split into two connectors and the rear is one 4 pin? connector?

You'll have to ask those brilliant dumbasses that designed it.

Because, in the fairing, the front harness splits. One for the left speaker, 1 for the right speaker. When you pull the pod, you can disconnect at the respective side without having to pull the speaker out to disconnect the spade terminals.

The rear speaker harness runs down the frame, to the tour pack. To disconnect the tp you unplug the rear speaker harness at the tp not at the speaker.

Ahh that makes sense. Actually, it was pretty brilliant thinking after all. Thanks for the explanation.
