Default is the switch broken?

I just bought a 2017 FLTRU. It has the Boom something GPS/stereo. I'm not sure which Boom it is, the 6.5 I think, it has the 2 buttons on each side of the screen.

When I am listening to music on a USB stick, the left toggle joystick does not advance or rewind the tracks. It will raise and lower the volume if I move it up/down, but left/right doesn't do anything. Do I need to be on a specific screen for that to work, or hold it for a certain amount of time? I would think it would work on any screen. I've tried holding it for a few seconds. Nothing.

Is there another function that I can try where that joystick should do something? Should it advance the song if I am listening via bluetooth? Or maybe go to the next radio preset (radio, what's that?)?

Is there another way to advance the track?

Thanks

Flip it to an fm station, should be able to cycle through stations with that switch.

Go into the menu system and toggle it to "Seek" with music playing on the usb stick.

You should be good to go.

I tried that and think I didn't have an option to select seek. I'll look around again, but yeah I've never had the functionality for next and previous song when playing through the usb drive.

Another option is to go into the menu when playing the thumb drive, the select Tracks.. Then you can scroll up and down and select which song you want to listen too from there.

ok 2 and a half years later and I'm still learning things about this radio. lol

The Seek is a toggle. It toggles between Seek and Preset. Not sure who came up with that brilliant idea, but now I can advance or revert to the next song from the usb drive.

Hold on, help me out here. How do I get it to advance from the left joystick? Sounds like I need to change something in a menu from Preset to Seek? Please explain. Thanks!

While playing music from the USB, click on the top right menu item. Cant remember if its titled "Settings" or not. The left one is find I believe. Then in settings, the top left option will either say Preset or Seek.....selecting it toggles between the two. Make sure it says Seek. That should get you the advance functionality.

I'm assuming you have the same boom HU as I do........

Edit. Its "Menu"...top right....click that then set the top left menu item to Seek.
