So it's damn near my multiple day trip riding season down here in Tejas thus I pulled the non weather friendly Beyma CX300s out of my lids and TP and dropped 4 of these all weather JL M6 in those holes, and damn the 880s in general really are a nice damn well balanced speaker fir sled audio. The M6 are slightly improved than the prev generation as the tweeter is improved and are a bit more efficient, not to mention they are much easier to paint as the tweeter assembly comes completely off the speaker without cutting wires.
Very damn nice all around speakers for the ground pounders. Highly recommend.
Just make sure u get them a couple hundred watts or more!!!!
I luv that JL shix!!! Just no better one and done full range all weather 8" speaker for the lids and pack.
T
I have to agree. They play a great full range of sound, very little tuning if at all, can't get anymore water resistant.
Yes there are less expensive speakers that will play lower or better mids, but I really don't think you can beat the OVERALL build of these speakers for your every day rider.
Only bad things are the price and availability of lids for them.

Been running four of them for 3 plus years with different amps and not one single issue ones in tour pak do have a little sun fade and often think about trying something different in that location due to mama saying turn down but i don"t have any desire to change out my lowers.
All that said will be in contact with tailwind soon cause its winter and I cant stay off this site which means time to change things up.
