No sound
Few weeks back, out on a ride and after about 1 hour the radio stopped. Went back home and then the next day I tried the radio again and it worked. Today again on a ride and the radio stopped again, then stopped for coffee and after about 20 minutes went to start the bike and was completely dead. After about 2 hours went back and everything started.
Any ideas as to why the radio stops and then that prevent trike from starting.

Sounds like it is working like it should. In all seriousness that is a common problem with the Harley HK radios. Iron cross can fix it and upgrade it with goodies or you can buy another ticking bomb.

Pretty sure whatever is causing your bike to not start is not the radio. I'd be checking for loose grounds or a battery load test. Once you find that culprit, bets are everything goes back to working as it should.

If the radio is still on and volume numbers go up and down and you can change the station, BUT there is no sound? Then your radio is going out. Very common thing with the HK head units.
