Default Wiring Mess

My son just bought a new to him 2011 Street glide. In each bag he has 2 6x9 RF's, Up front in the fairing he has 6.5 mmats. Whats maddening is whenever he has to remove one of his bags it is a wiring nightmare because of the speakers and amp that are in that bag. The other side- he just unhooks the speaker wires and off it comes. I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions, hints, advice, guidance etc on unraveling this nightmare. PICTURES would be highly appreciated. TIA

Yep, pictures would be very useful of the mess you describe.

Without seeing what you have I would be looking to get connectors designed for the application.

I hate reading about splicing, soldering, piggy back splicing. It is a nightmare. It cannot be removed and it ruins the existing wiring loom.

I'll try and get some this weekend

What might be a "connector designed for the application"?

Yah thats it! A wiring loom is what it looks like.

Until anyone sees the wires you have no-one can know which connectors you need.

Your third link is a type of connector used by HD for places where the connector is not under cover.

Here is a fuller list of connectors used by HD

http://www.harley-davidson-hangout.c...r-part-numbers

The multilock is by far the most common used when the connector is under cover.
