As the title states. Doing a 4 speaker install this winter. Soundigital 800.4s was the plan but may wait for the evo x to drop. Speaker wise, is there a significant difference in SQ or loudness between Mmats 601cx vs Polk MM652 and 609.4 vs MM692. There is a substantial difference in price (about 50% less for Polk), and I’m not looking to enter any comps, just hear music at speed with a full face.
I installed (4) Polk 652s this summer and they are plenty loud enough for highway cruising. Up north here, it is more difficult to get MMats, and I did consider them based on everyone on this forum always promoting them, but in the end I could get the Polks through Crutchfield and they came with free speaker adapters. Also, the Polks will drop right into my rear pods without any issues.
Polks have an issue with getting very hot. Do a search here and google for heat problems with the Polks. You'll be surprised how many have had a problem with them. There is no comparison to the sound quality either. The MMats will blow those Polks away twice over.

Yep, we are definitely limited on audio choices North of the border. I'm up here in Edmonton. Sometimes it's not so much the exchange or the price that gets us, it's the darn shipping.
