Default 4.3 to 6.5

If I want to switch out the stock 4.3 to a 6.5 Infotainment, is there anything I need to complete this ? Any extra cables, adapters, etc.?
Will it have to be flashed ? Does the bikes with the 4.3 have speaker pods ?

I swapped out a 4.3 to a 6.5” in a friends bike. It was a direct swap, plug in. He didn’t have to flash but it will depend on how the radio was flashed prior. If you have any boom amps you will have to get the radio flashed for those options unless already done.

So the flash is in the HU itself versus a relationship between the two? Aka, the sled computer itself is wide open but the HU is the sole driver of the flash restrictions & benefits?

My HU has been flashed to 4/0 thus just making sure that will drop in and play as intended by the flash.

Thx!!!

The ecm is required to flash but the flash is held in hu I believe. I have seen Alex and others offer flash services if you send them your hu. That makes me believe it should function the same in the next bike as it did in yours. If that bike has different needs then it will have to be flashed accordingly (CB, xm, etc).

Gotcha!!! Just wasn't sure that since it's a different HU altogether from a 4.3 to a 6.5 that they might have to be synced up.

Easy enough to fix with a simple flash but just checking.

I purchased a 6.5gt off an Ultra from a forum member. It was plug and play with no issues to my Ultra Classic.
