FM Reception and Amp Setting

I tried to search this with no luck. I just installed a Sony 7000 HU, NVX vadm4 amp with Mmat PA601cx speakers. I also have the Harley inner fairing antenna but now I’m not picking up any FM stations. Is this common with an amp? Anything I can do to improve this? Also I’m controlling the sound/equalizer through the HU what Crossover setting on the amp should I select? I’m only running 2 speakers in the fairing. Thank you!

Also running class D amp in the same fairing as one of those hidden antennas is probably not going to work very well. Even if the amp is shielded well just the RF interference generated on the power and ground wires could trash what little signal those internal antennas pick up. If you happen to have the original whip antenna that came with your bike try putting it back on, that may solve your problem.

I fiddled with FM reception a good bit when I first started tinkering my system and found that each time I went with a longer antenna whip I got a little better reception.

Thank you. I will be using Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay for sure but would be nice to listen to a few local FM stations too.

I'm running the stinger amp as well. I also have flipped my stock whip antenna to run it under the fender and seat. I get good fm reception, even though like fireball said, I generally listen to USB card or stream from my phone. USB card I've found, seems to have the best sound.
