Thanks to everyone for your input.

I'll continue with a little more research and reading.

the prv 6mb 250 sound great back there I was very pleasantly surprised especially for the cost

Get some spacers and the Mmats 601CX and call it a day. Many of the PA speakers that will be mentioned are essentially 1/3 of a 3 way speaker cabinet. Thus u will need to compliment them with the other 2/3s somewhere else in ur setup. The Mmats CX do a pretty damn good job of aggressively covering at least 5/8 of the full range spectrum.

I guess I don't think of TP speakers in terms of rear passenger sound. More of a rear fill is what I think of. Regardless if you are looking for full range a coax is probably a better choice.

Anyone have a link to these spacers that will allow the 601cx to fit?

I'm also curious as to what others are finding for tour pack pod speakers capable of enough volume to keep up with the rest of their system at freeway speeds.
Obviously it depends on what's in the fairing, but what are some of the options capable of above average volume, that will fit in the rear pods, with or without an adapter.

The 4 Mmats speaker system works well, but in order to balance them out, you still end up turning down the front speakers a little and leaving a bit of fairing volume on the table in order to hear the rear speakers. I've overcome the balance issue with a little bigger amp on the tour pack pods in the past.

What's everyone's go to choice for the tour pack?

We know the Mmats 601.cx sounds good, has plenty of volume, and fits with the vtwin speaker adapters.

I believe the Polk 652 mm fits with no adapter, but have never tried them, so hopefully someone else can chime in on their sound quality and volume capabilities.
I'm currently running a simple 4 speaker set up with the Stinger amp. Polk MM652's in the TP pods and Hertz HCX165's in the fairing. The Polk's sound good and keep up with the Hertz in the fairing just fine.
That being said though, I have a set of Mmats 601.cx here that I'll be putting in the fairing this winter. In the back of my mind I guess, I was already pretty much planning on having to swap out the Polk's to Mmat's.
Will see if the Polk's will keep up with the Mmats or not? And yes...the Polk's do drop into (just have to clock them somewhat) the pre-Rushmore pods without a spacer...so that's nice.

I'll be curious as to how well the Polk MM652's balance out with the Mmats for future reference. I already have the Mmats in my tour pack, but it will be good to know how well the Polks work, for those not wanting to spend the extra bucks on the Vtwin speaker adapters.
