@Tailwind how hard was it to install the eglide pods on the TP? I told my wife I'd wait until the start of the year, and now I have her permission. MMATS weatherized coax would add the last piece to the full balance puzzle...hopefully.
I'll be curious as to how well the Polk MM652's balance out with the Mmats for future reference. I already have the Mmats in my tour pack, but it will be good to know how well the Polks work, for those not wanting to spend the extra bucks on the Vtwin speaker adapters.
Will see. Unfortunately dealing with a few more months of winter here, it will be a while before I can try. One thing I do know is these Polk MM652's hold up real well in the rain. I've been through a few big rain storms with no ill effect. Rode one day...all day (8 hours) in pouring rain without a passenger so they got a lot of direct rain back there in the TP pods. Not ideal but it's an outdoor "passion" and sometimes when on a road trip, you just need to get there. Polk describes them as "marine rated". Any first hand reports on how the Mmats with "weather protection" stand up to extreme rain?
The polks will not keep up, just instal the mmats, i used a metra 1/2 inck spacer, cheap, and mmats grills. Works just fine.

The polks would surprise you. I have them running with the same amount of power as 4 PA speakers in front of me and I can definitely tell when they are on or off.

It really is a cave man install brother. Maybe 30 mins. I run the Mmats 601CX and they provide very good balanced sound. My Dragon likes them too. The Mmats are a very safe purchase for that location!!! If u want damn aggressive them GZ reds are screamers but momma say no bueno.

How do those Mmats (assuming you have the Marine ones) hold up in the rain back there T? My bike is a "rider" first & foremost so whatever is back there has to be able to take it. Don't want to park it cause it's raining.
the polks did not suprise me at all, they were tested side by side and failed, just the truth, they could not hang. not that they sound bad, they just would not keep up.
as far as how well the weather treated Mmats hold up, they are great, i get rained on all the time here in south florida, anything from mist to torrential downpoor, never ever had a water issue.

My recliner pack w the treated Mmats CX is the long haul pack and that biatch ain't stopping for rain. Have hit a few big showers and no issues whatsoever.
If u really want the sit out in the rain overnight speaker I would think about a marine grade ATV speaker like the DB Drive WDX Moto Gen 2. Prob some very good sound in that rear pod location as well.

Thanks for confirming men...much appreciated! Don't need the "sit out all night in the rain" as if I'm home it's in the garage, or I usually take my cover with me for overnight on the road trips.
