Thinking about speaker lids. My wife seems to graze my lids everytime she gets on. Which 6×9 lids would be the toughest AB?
Why not just get the RF kit? Stock lids are pretty tough, and IMO the RF kit is a clean "stock" look. Also you can sell the RF speakers, if you want something else.
As far as grazing the lids goes how tall is your wife? Mine is 4'10" tall and I had to get the raised floorboards from Harley for her. After that she has no problems getting on and off the bike without hitting anything.
When I went for 6x9 lids I got the Hogtunes set and painted them to match. I have had no problems at all with them but I have heard the ones for the Rushmore bikes aren't built as well. I liked the idea of having a second set of lids in case I ever wanted to change things back to stock. You do lose some luggage capacity with the 6x9 speakers.
