Default 800.4 or 1200.4

Ok, it's time to put this together. The goal is loud and clear at 80mph, not winning a competition.

I did put some wdx8motos in the lids (kept my horns), and I like them, so they will stay. I have horns in my grills as well. For 6.5s, i have mmats 601.4 up top and Hertz SV165S in lowers.

If i go with the 1200.4, I would think it would require replacing the mmats, as the rms/program power is not high enough for the 1200. By my rough estimate, the 1200.4 would give about 350 watts @ 2 ohms and about 250 watts @ 4 ohms. I would wire the fairing 6.5s to channel 1 in parallel, channel 2 to the lowers in parallel, then the two lids on 3 and 4. The horns would stay on my 250.2.

With an 800.4, I can keep all the same speakers, use 1 for fairing 6.5s, 2 for lowers, 3 for horns. That leaves either using one of my NVX VAD2M for the lids, or maybe buying a 400.4 and running it bridged.

The money is not the deciding factor. I'm not planning on bag speakers at the moment, it's an added bonus if I could get one of the new sets that are claiming IP65 in the lowers...ie. Diamonds new mids, 165 Neos, db Drive mids.

I have some hearing loss issues, so some of the SQ gets replaced by volume.

Go for the 1200 and turn down the fairing in the dsp to a level that they can handle.

I threw the SD 1200.4 in my scoot over the winter - love it, I have not had to put the volume on the Sony head unit over 25/26 yet at highway speeds
