Been lurking on the audio forum for a few weeks and decided to pull the trigger on my setup. Taking a phased approach.
Phase 1 -
Ax7000
SD 800.4 evo x
MMMAT PA601 CX in fairing and lowers
hope to stop here, but ya never know
Phase 2-
DSP, Horns, SD Nano 250.2 or something else
Phase 3 -
Not thinking this far ahead, but would certainly need another amp and bag lid setup
So what I am thinking here is on the power, rather than buy one of these overpriced amp install kits, I would rather run it once and expand as needed for the power. I'm thinking a 6 gauge run to the battery with inline master fuse, fused distribution block for each device under the fairing. Been looking around and not finding much. Mini ANL or ATC fuse types is what I would like.
I would rather do it once and make things easier in the future. What are you guys doing for power and where are you getting your setup? I do realize a single amp kit would take care of me at my first phase, just thinking ahead. Thank you in advance for your help.
If you are only going to run the pa601cx ( coaxial speakers) you won't need horns as mentioned in phase 2, a dsp is always nice but with that head unit a 4 of the same speakers probably not necessary either, the metra ST-AK8 is a nice amp wiring kit.
Looking on eBay would have been smart on my part...I kept searching mobile audio and getting the larger full size ANL solutions for car audio. Thanks for the tip.

As much a spent on this sled thus far I am hoping to be satisfied with my Phase 1 plan and call it a day. Not an audio snob, but I have seen a few friends with the RF and J&M kits and thought it insane what they were getting for the cost. Then I came back here and found a lot of good advice. Thanks for the tip on the kit.

You're smart to do it once and be done. Leaves you room to expand easily and really doesn't cost you that much more.
First off, thank you guys for the responses! Huge help, everything I accomplished I learned here reading these forums and doing other research. I cannot thank everyone enough for sharing!
I ran the Mmats 601 CX in lowers and fairing. Not enough low end. Loud, clear, but lacking low end. Nothing against them, my noob mistake.
Just dropped the fairing Mmats out and replaced with GZ yellow baskets with the grill mounted Diamond Audio M075T in front of it.
i have my SounDigital EVOX 800.4 powering the GZ and Mmats now.
I also dropped a SD Nano 250.2 to run the Diamond Audio.
To top it off, installed a Dayton DSP in there. Got the BT module and remote. Tried like hell to replace that monster BT stick with something tiny that was compatible with damn near every OS in the world but no luck the Dayton never fired it up. Ended up making it work with the Dayton BT module. The Dayton remote was garbage and the LEDs were too bright, tossed that to the side.
The only outlier issue I have had is getting short, high quality, flexible RCA cables. It's back together now and sounds AMAZING!!! Have a suddle hiss between tracks and I'm thinking it's the cheapo cables. I went through 2 sets and it was just too bulky and putting too much strain on my equipment for my taste.
Followed the advice for setting Gains and the DSP, more tweaking to do and I might even get into REW with the mic to help with the EQ setup.
Only things left are -
- Install the CVO grills for my lowers when they finally come in to the dealer. Have a spacer and Mmat grills on it now. I paid a ridiculous amount for those damn grills. 😒
- Find and replace the RCA jumpers with something better suited for the task. Any suggestions for something that is not a meter long and flexible welcome?
- When I go in to do the RCA cables, going to install the sound dampening material inside the fairing.
