I didn't want to add anything to the bars but i think you have to keep a disc in the cd player to make it work which blows. I'm tired of waiting for new platform so i'll just add a gps to this bike and buy a new 1290 Super Adventure.

You're stuck with the outdated cruddy arrows on your HK screen. That is GPS offered on the HK. I also use a Garmin
I ride a 2009 UC. The previous owner had installed a Garmin Zumo 665 plugged into the AUX port.... it has GPS and Sirius/XM. I don't have the radio subscription (it's a bit pricey), but the previous owner said the GPS would silence the radio to broadcast the turn-by-turn instructions. I typically use an iPod for music and watch the Garmin. If I'm in an area where I need to watch the road more closely, I plug in the Garmin and do without the music.

Ride Safely!
John.
If you call Sirius XM you can talk them into giving you it for $5 a month. Luckily in 2000 I bought the lifetime subscription when they were available. Not sure if I would pay for it if I didn't have the lifetime sub. The audio quality isn't great!
That is a great price. Handlebar mount?
Here is a pic of the dash mount Garmin on a pre Rushmore fairing. I must say i love that its not handlebar mounted.
