Default Correct Fuse Size

I am considering changing my amp to the Sound Digital Evox 2400.4 in the 4 ohm version. On their website, the recommended line fuse is 140 amps. Has anyone used one this big, where do I get it, and is there another alternative such as a circuit breaker?

Thanks for the help.

i have not used that amp yet but if they recommend 140 then that make me think it uses a lot of power to run it. If you use lower amp fuse and it doesn’t blow then you are better off anyway. If it were me I would try a 60. If it blows then up it to 100 but that’s just me.

fuse size depends on cable size and amp draw from the amp
Im running 2 amps with 40 amp fuse each
thats 4 gauge wire feeding to distro blok and 8 gauge after the 40 ampfuse to each amp

that size fuse seems way to high to me

must be a massive power wire feeding that system. hell the biggest breaker in my main fuse box for the whole house is 100 amp breaker
not saying they are wrong or anything just thinking out loud i guess radio systems might go that high in the car shakers
ok just went and did some searching and yes indeed they call for fuses that big. who would have thunk it. ill bet the battery hates it

another option is to bridge an evox 400 to the fronts and bridge an evox 800 to the rears. those would have less current draw and would be a cheaper total cost. any thoughts?
