Default 14 Ulta LTD Speaker Replacement

I picked up 14 Ultra Ltd and the rear speakers are "going bad". Is it possible to just replace the speakers with the Rockford Fosgate TMS65's (or another suggestion) as Plug N' Play with the stock Boom GT system? I know that eventually I will need to add an amp and do the whole thing but I am trying to "conserve" funds at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Replace with another set of stock speakers. You will be disappointed other wise. Many poeple have went down that road. Going cheap ends up costing more.

RF website that these will sound better than the stock speakers and are a direct Plug and play. It sounds like you are knowledgeable and disagree? The RF's are actually more than the stock speakers and it would be the first step in replacing the whole system (speakers and amp), just one step at a time.

The Boom amps are under powered and people tend to try and get more out of them leading to distortion and blown speakers. If you do a search this topic has been gone over many times.

Your best bet is just to replace with stock HD speakers until you’re ready to replace the whole system. I would not recommend buying the RF speakers without an amp And there are a lot better speakers out there for when you want to replace the whole system. You can pick up used HD speakers rather cheap since most everyone is upgrading their systems with aftermarket.

Find some 6.5 speakers just make sure they are 2 ohm if you want to drive them with the harley head unit.
