Heres quick info, 2009 road glide, running 2 front Rockford fosgate speakers, new sony Mex head unit 500 watt 2 channel amp, Sounded great for 5 months!! started having left speaker go in and out, removed faring half dozen times checked speaker connections and wiring and wiggled **** around to see if I could get speaker to stop and never could. sitting in garage sounds great, put faring back on sounds great, few mins into ride same ****, left speaker start to go in and out then nothing!!!! just tired of taking the damn fairing off hoping not to strip anything putting back together but idk what else to chk or re do? thinking about just taking somewhere and re do all the wiring even tho im pretty sure my ground is good, rca connections to radio good? so I think.
I dont think it is? I have the direct fit Rockford speakers so there is plenty of room and when I put the outer faring back and do a sound check works fine, maybe something changes when im riding??
Anyone got a good audio guy up my way in NW Indiana? I gave it the good college try and researched and installed new radio, amp and speakers & was happy as hell with the sound and results for my budget, but now i just want to ride the damn thing, sound good and not have to wrench on it anymore
I'd switch the speakers left and right and see if the issues stays on the same side or moves with the speaker. Did you check your ground and power connections at the battery?
good ground, would one side work and the other not so much if ground was bad? I would think they both would go out but this is why I ask, lots of knowledge and good advice on here so Im game for anything! and no I have not switched speakers as I havent had the desire to take fairing apart again after I was told to try this. Maybe if we get a rain day soon or some down time I will tackle one more time? Just frustrated I installed everything after much advice n research here and all was well with my audio
