Can anyone think of a reason why am 8ohm speaker ( Beyma pro6cxnd) would only read 4.8-5 ohms on a multi meter ? I’m just now installing them and I had them wired up parallel to get them down to 4 ohms and I decided to see just what the resistance was by clamping the probes on to the end of the speaker wire that would be going to the speaker output from the amplifier and it read 2.7. So then I checked each speaker individually with no connections made at all and it’s consistent between the two speakers at around 5ohms for the “woofer” and 5.6-5.7 for the tweeter. The speaker as well as the box clearly state that they’re 8ohms. Now I don’t know what wiring strategy to use I want to run them at 4 ohms but was planning on running them bridged parallel off of a tx48 amplifier Any thoughts or opinions appreciated
They are an 8 ohm nominal speaker. Resistance changes throughout the frequency curve, so it's a moving target. The multimeter readings you have are normal. Parallel them and let them roll. Just make sure your amp is set to clean power, not rated power on that TX48 as it get's dirty the closer you get to it's specs.

thx for the information. Someone else told me the same thing earlier. I just freaked out a little Bc id just spent so much on this set of speakers and I thought maybe they were blown up or something lol. I did some searching and read up in a few things that gave me a little better understanding about the different parameters.
and youre absolutely right about the TX 48 getting dirty. And Ive noticed that its finicky as crap too!! One day itll sound good with a certain setting and the next day it seems like its either too much or too little gain. I just bought a 800.4 evox off of a forum member last night and its taking the massives spot under the hood. Thx again for the info. Im relatively new to audio and am slowly learning as I go. If only it werent too damn expensive to learn some lessons LOL but one things for sure when you pay to learn that lesson you never forget it and by god theres a bunch of them that I wont forget LOL. All in all though I feel like Im moving in the right direction finally thx to this forum and guys like you and many others here that take time to stop and help the new guys that wanna learn. Im sure I speak for all the other new guys when I see it is appreciated greatly
