Default Evo X Failure

After my recent problems, @Lucky 7 Custom Cycles diagnosed that my Evo X 1200.4 has failed. I know this has been a fairly common problem. My question is about the warrant process with Sounddigital. Does anyone have a contact? I purchased it from a member, so I don't have a first party receipt for this.

Would appreciate any help.

Bill

Just go to their US website and submit a RMA form. They will get back to you in few days. Then send it in.

Subscribed. Let us know how it goes bro. I was just looking to upgrade to that amp, and have been on my heels since some of the issues have come up. My 800.4S EVO has been a rock solid beast, but always looking for more. Good luck.

Its been 24 hours with no response from the RMA group. Maybe that's normal, but I'll update as I get new info.

So did you end up with a euphoria amp then? Or waiting on this one to be repaired?

Usually it's a few days before they respond.

Magloo what have you noticed about temps on that 800.4? I was tempted to get one for my rear amp but since it is in the clutch side bag I was worried about heat. One user reported that in that location his got so hot it melted the velcro adhesive off.

I have used the 800 evox in fairing and in bag. I will say they do get hot, but in a bag I really wouldn't recommend Velcro to attach it. I can see where that would get hot and melt the glue. I can't recall off hand if the 800 evox has a fan on the bottom like the 1200 or not.

This is what I would do.
1. Epoxy an HDPE or acrylic plate to the bag. Thread in screw holes and use a 1/2" nylon spacer. That way the amp has air on both sides of it.

2. Mount the amp on the hinge side with a metal plate or something of that sort. Mount the plate to the hinges where the tether goes. Then use nylon spacers to mount the amp.

Velcro is destined for failure in a bag. Securing it with screws is the way to go, but you do not have to drill through the bag to accomplish it. In the bag with no air circulating, it will certainly warm up more than in the fairing where there is some air coming in.

I've got mine under the hood on my Pre-Rushmore and gosh, I've never pulled the fairing quick enough to check it after a long ride, but when I was tuning it, I didn't notice excessive heat? I wish I had more intel.
