What it looks like they did is run channel 1 to the fairing yellow baskets in parallel, channel 2 to lowers in parallel, and 3 and 4 to the lid 8s. The horns are on the separate amp, and they installed capacitors as high pass filters.

I haven't had it on the road since I put the Faitals in. It sounds loud and clear. The only complaint I had with sound is the excessive highs from all the tweeters.

GS I can say even as a novice that with the environment these speakers are in out on the highway I don't see any way to get balanced and warm sound without a DSP when several different types of speakers are in play. I fought off having one for some time but even my first novice tune made a world of improvement in sound quality to my ears.

Think of it this way, your system as it stands now is NOT simple. Simple is a head unit, one amp, and four speakers. It really does pay to learn to use whatever DSP you settle on. It took me a few months of trial and error (and Googling) but I finally got the sound I was looking for without having to spend a ton of cash.

Good luck.

When you say they removed the DSR1, surely its going to be replaced with a better dsp, right?

I've changed all kinds of speakers and amps over the years, but I would never go back to no dsp. That is the one item that allows different speakers to play in their wheelhouse. With all the different speakers, with all the different specs and requirements, it brings them all together to make a system. Any quality speaker can sound good when tuned properly. The dsp makes that happen.

Good luck with your endeavors GS.

Who decided on the DSP removal you or the installer? Second if you like the way it sounds then roll on with it and enjoy. Lot of members obviously disagree with the dsp removal but hey if your happy that’s all that matters.

Regarding the removal of the DSR by a very capable sled audio shop, there is a lot more to this story that we don't know about.

If there is more to the story, its not on my end. I didn't ask for it to be removed. I was surprised when the installed explained everything to me, and told me that they had more problems with the dsr1 than any other dsp, so they took it out. I think it sounds fine as it is, but would enjoy having a Bluetooth connection to make adjustments rather than popping the top to turn the high pass down for the Faitals.

I'm about to pop it open to check out how it looks. If the dsr can go in pretty easily, I can do that. If it looks nice and clean and professional, ill probably just turn the high pass down and keep it as is.

Maybe they wanted to sell me a new dsp? Not sure, but they never asked that question. You guys have helped me a ton over the last 18 months, and I have a ton of respect for you and your opinions. I just can't see that a shop of this quality, who is packed with work because of their attention to detail, made a mistake.
