I'm not an extreme audiophile but do know the concepts. I'm just trying to get a good opinion on what my options are. Like I said earlier, I would to retain the factory HU to have the hand controls, weather protection, CB, nav, etc.... I am also going to get the WHIM as I am getting used to the phone and nav prompts and don't want to be tethered to the bike. I'm confused with the CVO upgrade though. I'm guessing the MoCo added the higher output amplifier but left the standard speakers??? In any event I want to change out the existing 4 speakers(fairing, tour pak pods) and add lower fairing speakers. Maybe ultimately add saddlebag lid speakers down the road?? Again I appreciate the input!!

hey bud, I had a pro outift take out my Boom II stuff and put new speakers in the bags and upper fairing

we nixed the amp in the bag and the whole system is powered from one amp in the fairing

the install and equipment ran me about 2k....i am happy, but audio upgrading begets audio upgrading....were I to do it over again, I would have gone with a DSP

None of us are at first.....lol

Check out some of the videos in the video sticky. The more systems you can hear, especially in person, the more informed you will be when putting your own system together. In person is hard with the winter months coming I know, and online videos dont really do sounds justice.

Also, others will have to chime in. Not sure what can fit in CVO speaker pods. I'm running advan black lowers with some faital pro 6fe200 speakers. I had to heat the pods for them to sit in there flush, so fitment plays into it as well.

As for your future plans. Think that all out carefully. Amp strategy as well as wiring strategies play a key role.

hey icaporaso, is your '17 a 'wethead' like mine?

I'm asking because you mentioned possibly adding speakers to the lower fairings....be careful that you chose speakers that will fit

as well, the improvement that was made when I replaced my amp and speakers in my bags and upper fairing was so great that I don't need to add lower speakers.....now I still want to one day, but I don't need to

If you want it to look right, speakers in the lowers on a wethead is a pretty big undertaking. If you don't mind what it looks like, there are a few companies that make big spacers that can create a little space but they look just like it sounds .. big and awkward.
