Default 2019 SGS - help me upgrade from factory to 2 or 4 speakers setup

This spring, I would like to upgrade my factory speakers on my 2019 SGS. I just found out that my bike does not come with an amp, so, looks like I will have to add one. With that, I have few questions I hope you guys could help me out with. Considering that I like all types of music, I am looking for a system to provide a cleaner sound, more than louder. I know it will be louder than what I have, but I like when the sound is clear. Right now, riding on the freeway, I have to crank it up almost all the way up and then, still, it sounds like **** and its all distorted.

My total budget would be $600 for everything. I would like to keep the installation simple, with one amp. I am willing to step the budget up a little for possibility of better upgrade.

1. I do not have lowers at this time. I am still trying to decide if I should go with them or not, but if I was, what would be the best speakers for lower fairings? Would it be better to go with better batwing speakers and bridged amp, instead of 4 lower priced speakers? To add: I do not plan on having speakers in the back.
2. What would be the best amp for the buck to power 4 speakers or 2 speakers bridged?
3. What would be the best speakers for the buck to replace the factory ones? I see lots of suggestions for Hertz or MMATS?
4. Where does the amp install on SGS? In the front fairing? If so, can it be installed in the bag instead? I would hate to add weight there.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

600 is tough. The newest go to coax is the GZ 6.5 at around 250 for the pair. They might take some slight mods to the speaker pods to get to fit, as the magnet is pretty large.
An sd800.4 evox amp would run you around 350 to 400 I think...dont quote me. but close.

Bridge those speaker with that amp to get around 250 watts and that will SING with good lows and clear EQ.

If you plan on adding another pair of speakers some time down the road, you might opt for a little more cash up front and spring for the 1200 evox.

Weight from these amps in the fairing isn't an issue. You could install in the bag, but if you're like me...I like my bag space for cloths, rain gear and stuff.

You'll also need to get your HU flashed to flatten the built in EQ curve. Shouldn;t run no more than about 50 bucks.

Then there is misc wiring. You';; need a metra amp power/ground kit to power your amp. I think around 30 bucks maybe, Also run new speaker wires. Pretty cheap to get OFC wiring.

Then you'll need a pac sni-35 to convert speaker level inputs to RCA. And of course a pair of RCA cables. 15 bucks for the pac sni. RCAs are pretty cheap as well.

That set up will get you very loud but very good sound and you may be please with just a 2 speaker system.

Thanks guys. I appreciate your feedback. I guess I would be fine with just two speakers. I really don't want to blow up the neighborhood or anything like that. In-fact, I find it obnoxious when I hear people blasting their music so damn loud that you can hear it for blocks lol I just want it to sound nice and clear and when I do turn it up (mostly on the freeway to hear it) I want a setup that will be able to handle it. I do have aftermarket windscreen on my SGS, so the wind noise is less than with factory screen.

Looks like I got some shopping to do. Any suggestions on best places to get this stuff from?

Try aggressive audio on FB. He usually has the best prices and is really a stand up guy.

For a little bit more coin I would invest in the mentioned or any Rokker set up. I just picked up this kit, can NOT wait for it to arrive and get it installed. I’ve heard good things. See what I did there?!!!

Rokker

You haven't heard good things about it here except from the one selling it. Much better to be had for the money.

Personally I wouldn't use nor suggest any of the Rokker products.
