So to start, here is how I look at it.

1. The stock harley flash on the head unit is garbage. The DSR can work around it, but it's going to take some work. Just time consuming.
2. Go to the american hardbag page, they have some DSR1 tuning tips. This will help you greatly and give you an idea of what your EQ curve may look like on the DSR1 to get things closer to flat.

But first and foremost, unhook your speakers and go back to the audio home page and take a look at the setting gains sticky. At minimum, you're going to need a multimeter. The position the gain is turned to is completely irrelevant. That is a function of the input voltage from the HU through the DSR1 to your amp. Set your DSR1 to 2 Volts input (I believe that's possible, it's been a while since I've used one of those). Then set all your EQ to flat and your crossovers to full range. Now you're ready to set your gains. Set gains to the AC voltage that corresponds to 4 ohms of resistance. Should be around 22-23 Volts AC.

Once you're done with gains, go into your DSR1 and do your crossovers first. For the Harley speakers, I'd do a high pass around 120 hz just to be safe on a 12 db slope. Maybe that's too much for them, maybe it's not. Can't say one way or another. For the GZ, set the HP to about 80 hz on a 12 db slope.

Next go study the AHB DSR1 tips and look at their EQ curve. Try to get something close to it. Focus on 100 hz and cutting that pretty hard.

After all that, you should be in a better spot.
I just looked and it is possible to set the input on the DSR1 to 2Vrms (among others).

I agree. As much as I try to give John a chance, these types of comments are absolutely self driven and selfish only to put a few dollars in his pocket. The only reason you see him in these posts lately is because of Daytona Bike Week.

I am likely going to take it over to one the the local HD shops that can flash using the Rockford Fosgate flash to make sure the curve is nice and flat.

After that I will go reread the sticky on setting the gain, and follow your advice. I'll update this after Saturday when I am back and able to work on it. THANK YOU!!!
Sent you a PM.

If a dealer won't flash it for you let me know, I have the tool.

Great! Thank you very much for the offer. Going to call Mancuso and The Ranch to see if they will do it. I'd not, I'll likely reach back out to you.

Mancuso Crossroads said they can get me in tomorrow to do it. Much closer for me than Ranch. Especially if it rains...

Thank you!

First is the bike running while your trying to set it. Mine will go off also when it doesn’t have enough juice. When on AHB you should be able to use their eq file from the site and load it onto your DSR to get the flat settings

Maybe I missed something but if ur running the OEM speakers for an audio upgrade u have lost all focus on a reasonable outcome thus none of these other details will do much for u.
Not being negative, just realistic. Lipstick on a pig per se.

I understand. They are at least the BOOM Stage 1, so at least not strictly stock. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, so let's call this purgatory for now.
