I know he built his own lower pods with an 8 inch ring added to his existing glove boxes, or the HD 6.5 pods. What speaker he chose, that part I dont know. I saw his pods and with time and effort they turned out really nice. Ill holler at Josh and have him fill in the blanks...

Yup as now I remember that too. Did a damn good job. Im curious if the new gz yellow baskets will fit in dirty bird lowers and how they would sound as I am leaning that way right now after I run these 6.5 gz for awhile.
Alot of work for sure but they turned out decent for my first attempt at anything like this. Here are a few pics from the journey.
Started with stock gloves boxes. Some fiberglass, resin and bondo and turned them into 8" pods.
The reason I asked the same thing is, this is an informed forum and not facebook. Most of the recommendations here are from people than actually have run what they suggest. I will not recommend any speaker or amp unless I have personally run them or at least tuned them. The regulars here will weed out those random suggestions. If you go to facebook even on the motorcycle audio pages, you will get recommendations like Rockford is the best or J&M is the best. These are made as that person may have that setup and has never heard any different so they have the best because it sounds better than stock. So with that being said, just keep in mind who you listen too on any social media.
