Default Front Speaker \ Amp Setup

Hey everyone, I have been reading around here for a few weeks and I'm looking to pull the trigger on a setup. I'm going to be installing a audio system in my my dad's 2012 Ultra Classic CVO.

The plan is to put new speakers in the upper and lower fairings. Along with an amp. It seems the consensus is yellow Basket GZCFs in the fairing and Mmat PA601.cx in the lowers.

I would like to use a single amp to power all the speakers. I've read good things about the SD 1200.4 and Moto 600.4. The SD is already pushing the budget so I'm wondering if it's worth the price difference? Or is it well into diminishing returns? Should I be looking for other amps in this price range? Or should I not even bother with the Yellow Baskets since they will have less than 200W?

There seems to be a delay in shipping for the speakers so would I be able to run these amps with the stock speakers in the meantime? Im in the middle of removing the tour pack so the front speakers don't work at all without the tourpak amp. I jumpered the wires temporarily for test purposes but I rather not have the bike running that way.

Thanks for the help.

200 watts isnt enough for the yellow baskets. Jl audio ad diamond and euphoria all make great amps. You will toast the stock speakers they are not made to be powered via amplifier.

Speakers I would look at beyma euohoria diamond prv audio legion. I run the gz and I'm not impressed. The beyma and euphoria blew me away how loud n clear they play. Dont get caught up in the bass and unless you're a park n sit guy who dont hear it down the road

Talk to carlos at nvs gil at Mavericks dan hearn carl Bordner chris lowe etc. Give them a budget and what your goals are. You can find them all on the fb audio groups.

How bout you give him amp and speaker models and how to set it all up himself as that seems to be what he's looking to do. I'll wait for your suggestions.

200w is enough for the gz YB coax. Im not sure where you got your info. 250-300w will get louder but 200 is plenty as that is what I am currently running (as of last week) in my lowers off 1/2 of a sd 120.4 4 ohm.

"Running the GZs but not impressed". That tells you all you need to know about this guy and his suggestions. He obviously doesn't know what he's doing nor how to set gains and freq for a coax speaker EVERYONE else has nothing but praise for.

I thought it was a reasonable question.

Yes, but what I meant was that they would be under 200W. At 4 ohms the Moto 600.4 is 150W and the SD 1200.4 is 165W (Parallel Bridged). So to clarify that part of my question, are the YBs worth using at 150-165W? Or should I just go with 4 MMATAS? Thanks

Lmfao 200 isnt enough ask anyone that has a shop and or competes. Sure 100 watts will get them to make sound. They are exactly set where where anyone that installs 1000s of setups would set them
.maybe someone did( wasnt me ) . You guys are funny af
