Default Flashing vs Biketronics

Sorry about all the questions, but I am preparing to finish the install and have couple things that are not clear to me.

I understand that I have two options. I can either use biketronics BT355 LL or I can use a simple converter and have my HU flashed by the dealer. I would rather go with flashing and simple converter for the fact that it is cheaper and I would just be done with it and won't need additional dialing in.

My question is, what exactly do they flash? I am afraid that they might break my Apple CarPlay, which is working perfectly now due to the "bypass plug" I bought on ebay. Are there chances that it could break? Also, is any motorcycle place capable of doing this or is this strictly HD thing?

The HU is flashed to flatten the built EQ curve. I'd say this wont affect your apple play by pass.

With the new RF and harley partnership, I'd say more and more HD dealers are going have the ability and software needed to do this. But any audio shop should have the techno research tool and or the RF software to do the flash.

A local dealership did my flash last year. They charged 50 bucks.

As always @teedoff65 , thanks for your reply.

Would I be better off to do this before I start the install? Meaning, can I just roll in the dealer now with my current setup and tell them to do the thing or should I hook everything up first? I am thinking, do it now and then install?

They can do it whenever takes about 5 minutes. I would have it done first so when your tuning and setting gains and xover you're getting WHT the true sound is

Yup, like dude says anytime. But I wouldnt hook stuff up and play your speakers much with that built in EQ curve. I think I had everything installed and just rode the 45 min without music to get it flashed. Then got home and started setting gains and tuning.

Rock n roll hd by you flashes and I think they charge 75 bucks. I do believe the Rockford Fosgate is the best flash to go with

8/2 would the the flatter curve but if you want to retain fade then the rf flash would be the one to go with.

The RF flash retains fade and has a better bass response.

You can check some independent audio shops. Rf has a dealer locator.
