Default 96 Electra Glide Speaker Problem

Any help would be appreciated. Installed a Kenwood KMR R328bt stereo with Kicker speakers. All brand new. Had to use the adapter from 98 up models with the handlebar control module. Also have a Rockford Fosgate amplified antenna. Everything works except the right speaker. I removed it and it worked when I hooked it up to the left side terminals. Anything I’m missing or I should check? Not an audio expert.

Thanks for the reply. Tried balance and fade. Disconnected battery again. Crazy amount of wiring looks fine. Really frustrating.

Is it possible to bypass the adaptor and handlebar controls to help isolate? Then if both channels work when controlling l/r balance from the head unit you'll have a better idea of where your problem is. What adaptor and control module are you using?

Not sure how I could bypass. Electrical is not my strong subject. Here are some pics of my adapter and handlebar control module.

Tried your bypass and it showed radio defect. Thanks again.

From the sticker on the side of the module that looks like it's the PAC HDK001X kit. I took a look at the instructions found here.

The problem is either the radio right channel, the kit wiring harness between the radio and the bike harness, or the bike harness itself. It's comes down to isolating the problem to fix it. You already eliminated the speaker itself and have also proven the left channel path is good all the way through.

You should confirm the right channel wiring is correct with good connections coming from the radio and connecting through the kit's harness into the bike harness. Then if that looks ok you could swap the left and right channel wiring at the radio to see if the problem might be the right channel of the radio itself.

If the radio and HD001X harness then test out ok you need to look at the bike harness. It looks like the bike harness itself has been modified but it's hard to tell from the pictures. You should make sure the bike's wiring from the harness connector to the speaker terminals is good.

Did you install this yourself? Was the original radio in place before this kit and radio were installed and the right channel working?

EDIT: In case you need the Harley wiring diagrams they can be found here. The '96 FLHT diagrams are WD26-30, 33. The bike harness (radio plug 27A in the diagrams) uses the following to connect the speakers:
Right: pin 9 (Grey/Red) is +, pin 10 (Green/Black) is -
Left: pin 11 (White/Orange) is +, pin 12 (Green/White) is -

Had a friend check everything over and his determination was a faulty head unit. I sent it back and will be waiting on a new one to arrive next week. I’ll let ya know if it works out. Thanks for all the time and info👍👍
