wouldn't you only use that if your amp didn't have high-level inputs, or only had RCA inputs?
Yes you can direct wire an amp if it has high input connections but then you can get ground loop interference from the engine when running. I prefer to change it from high input to low input prior to the signal going to the amp. As much as I despise rca connections as they are old school and can not be the most reliable connections, they still dont cause ground loop interference as bad as high connections to an amp.
I have a question just out of curiosity regarding these flashes (I don't have a Rushmore bike myself).
Do any of them drop the signal level down to the point it could be called "low level" so it could be plugged directly into the RCA plugs of an amp or do they just flatten the EQ curve leaving the signal still "amplified"?

good question. I had the Boom! II 4 speaker / 2 amp setup. When I flashed for LLs and an amp from BT the flash was 4 speaker / no amp. It was not the RF flash. So Im guessing that some flashes (at least Harleys) do flash for low-level but then again I dont know what the input level is on those Boom! amps.
