Default MMATS PA601CX's - broken?

I have had the MMats PA601CX's installed for about a year, they have been great over the last year but, I did notice that my right side speaker seemed to either not be working or at least very weak last time I rode. It was a short ride more of a commute so I didn't give it much thought and forgot to follow up.

Today I pulled the fairing off and the capacitor off the right side speaker is laying in the bottom of the fairing, it seems like the adhesive holding it to the frame let loose then the solder joints broke from vibration. Is the speaker screwed or can I solder the capacitor back on?

Your speaker is fine (unless maybe the loose cap damaged the cone or something). When soldering the cap back on make sure it's been discharged first. Also some types of capacitors are polarity sensitive (they will have "+" and "-" marked on the ends) and need to go back in properly aligned.

I would first see if they are under warranty before trying to fix them. If you try to fix them and it doesn't work, then MMats wont cover them under warranty. Yea you can solder the capacitor back in place but if the reason it fell off in the first place was do to being a bad speaker then warranty is gone. If you do try to solder them then use a low heat solder 60/40 or 70/30 blend if you can find it. Good luck.

Had that happen to 1 mmats 601cx before. Soldered it back on and it's been working fine for nearly a year.

So they are under warranty, I emailed MMats on Sunday evening David from MMats emailed me back 1st thing today and said basically they would be glad to do the repair under warranty, but also if I felt comfortable I could solder the capacitor back on myself. Quick customer service I'm impressed.
