Default 2015 FLHTK All kicker setup… muddy with every flash…

2015 FLHTK stock head unit…

Currently running 4 kicker 652 in the front… 2 692 in the bags and 2 652 in the tour pack
and 2 kicker pxa300.4 in the fairing…

I have flashed both the fosgate recommended and the default 8/2 setup… not impressed with the sound… haven’t put in a dsp yet but eventually will once I determine if it will actually help…

I have the amp gain set to minimum and the front amp set for bypass 1⬇️2⬇️3⬇️4⬇️while the rear amp is set up per kicker as 1⬇️ 2 ⬆️ 3 ⬇️ 4 ⬆️… if I touch the gain a notch it gets noticeably louder but sounds like entirely too much bass is over driving the speakers causing it to sound muddy…

yes I know there are so many other choices out there besides kicker but I have a long lasting relationship with them and I won’t cheat!!!

Do I have the crossovers correct? Would a dsp actually help remove the mud? Am I over powering my speakers with these tiny amps?

I literally have the gains all the way down… totally defeats the purpose of running amps at this point…

please help!

Are you running low level inputs or high level?
And no a DSP isn't going to help you.

Ok next question...are you running the tourpack on the front channels of the second amp?

I'm aware of that. Is the tourpack on the front channels of that amp?

yes they are on “amp 1” and the 6x9s are on “amp 2” as it shows on the gain control on the amp

Ok. On amp for front speakers it should be
1up 2 down 3 up 4 down. On rear amp
1 up 2 down 3 down 4 down.
For both amps fader should be up, input should be up, and auto turn on should be up. After making sure all dip switches are where they should be, try to set your gains again.

Ok I’ll go back into it tomorrow and try those settings I’ll try and record before and after sound clips
