subwoofers man port n sealed aftermarket bags. Dudes got a tourpack to haul ****! Go big or go home....or keep what he's got and go midbass 10s and save a whole Lotta coin and have some bag space
Subs do absolutely nothing for you unless you're parked or competing. Mid bass on the other hand will give you the best of both worlds. Sounds damn good parked and is still audible on the highway. At least mine is.
How many watts do those GZ coax realistically need. Will they do well on 200 watts or do they need more like 250 watts. I hear guys saying they sound best with 300 watts, but I am currently planning 200 to 250 watts if I'm looking at the 2400.4 - 2 ohm.
I have my lowers on half of a 1200.4 4 ohm giving them app. 200 w each. They sound good at that and will still go low enough for me to hear it from the lowers. Having been use to having pa woofers in my lowers in the past, these coax can be a bright harsh on highs without a dsp to tame them.

Already have a DD DSI-2 kicking around to install for tuning. Hearing all the reviews on these GZ coax, I am looking forward to hearing them. Currently have Mmats coax in the fairing and DB Moto G2s in the lowers on my old bike.
Figured I would up the game a bit for this bike.
I'm running around 275w to the 4 GZ's in the fairing and lowers, from a SD1200.4 EVOX 2 Ohm bridged. Sounds pretty darned good and loud. I rarely have to bring them over 1/2 volume. I had thoughts of going to the SD2400.4 but would have probably gone 4 ohm, and just run them straight up. But I'm I'm happy and will stick with the 1200. DSP comes next, and next winter I'll figure out what to do in the back. Sure wish I could find some decent 6x9 lids in Autumn Haze that don't cost an arm and a leg.

So you are running them in parallel, bridged off the 1200.4? Which speakers are in parallel?

Are you getting the 2ohm version and planning to run the GZ on their own channel?
How many speakers in total are you running and are they all 4ohm?

The plan is to run the fairing on channel 1
lowers on channel 2
Lids probably bridged on 3/4. Haven't picked the lid speakers yet, but thinking if I stick to a 2 ohm amp I have more 4 ohm speaker options, and tons of power down the road.
I could go with the 4 ohm version, but just concerned I might be lacking a little on power for future upgrades on the back end. May end up with 10"s when I upgrade to stretched bags.
I also have a 800.4 Evox on order as well as a Stinger and a NVX Vadm 4 kicking around.

Ok here's where you have to think outside the box. If you go with the 4ohm version, you can still parallel the GZ's and run them on Ch1 and so on. Look at the specs on the 4ohm version at 2ohm versus the 2ohm version at 2ohm. You're leaving a lot of power on the table going with the 2ohm version. With the 4ohm version, you have the ability to run 8 sets of 4ohm speakers, paralleled to 2ohm, and give every last one of them up to 335 watts if you needed to.
