2020 Street Glide. Love the ride. Night and day from my Dyna.
Love having a stereo on a bike, it’s a real treat for me. Love love love music.
I’ve got a Diamond audio micro4v2 powering two MP654s in the fairing. Nothing else. No lowers. Nothing in the bags. Not adding them.
This system was set up by a local diamond dealer who does a LOT of bike audio. All I get are screaming highs.
I know the speakers are two channels each because you power the driver and the horn. But I swear I feel like I’m just listening to tweeters in my ears. Thoughts?
That's what that speaker is designed to play. Its a compression horn tweet that plays high well. Not really ideal for front fairings. They play loud that's about it. You can tame the harshness down some w a Dsp but it will change the sound. I once thought I wanted those in my fairing until I seen n heard the light in action.
What kind of watts are you sending the speakers? Where do you have them crossed at? What filter is the amp set on? Running a dsp?
I couldn’t answer these unless I knew lol. The amp puts out 150x4. No DSP. Otherwise I don’t know. He set everything for me. I haven’t taken the fairing off.
Like dude said, that’s how those speakers play. That shop may do a lot of bike audio, but they gave you bad advice if that’s what they recommended for a 2 speaker only setup.

The main problem is that amp is only putting out 80 watts to those speakers unless he has them bridged and running the horn in parallel. Those speakers also come with a 4 ohm load resistor to help tame the highs, did the shop wire it in? I have them in my fairing sending 300 watts to each woofer! A dsp will help with those speakers.
