Default 2021 Road King

I have a 2021 Road King. Got a hell of a deal. Couldn’t pass it up. Billiard Red in Color.

So I want to add speaker lids to it. I was looking at either dual 6x9 lids or an 8 inch with a horn. I’ve seen YouTube videos on the advanblack bag lids that are already colormatched, but then seen several post on here trashing them. Only problem with paintable lids is I don’t have a good paint shop close by.

I don’t have a head unit obviously so i will have to have a bluetooth setup straight to an amplifier. Least I won’t have to flash a head unit. Lol.

So what lids do you recommend. What Bluetooth interface (I have only seen the RF one). I’m thinking GZ speakers. Not sure what amp. Any help would be appreciated

Taking it home. Got pegs and a sissy bar added. Now I have changed the seat to a tall boy and added a rider backrest.

Taking it home

Still on the crate

Any thoughts to adding lower fairings so you can get some sound from in front of you?

Not sure how much you'd hear from dual 6x9 lids. Perhaps 8" lids would get you more sound, but neither as good as front speakers.

I’m very tall. 6’4 300lbs. I would like to add lower fairings but I’m concerned about leg space. I’m also in public safety and the bike might get outfitted with a warning package. If so a siren is going to be mounted where the lower fairings would be. So there is that also.

If you want a stock look to the lids then a dual 6x9 setup is where its at. However, if you are going to eventually want speakers IN the bags then i would go with a 8" lid. Dual 6x9 lids do not seal the bag enough to run any speaker inside the bag properly.

I am 6'4 also, and do not have an issue with the lowers I added to my 21 SGS. If you are looking to hear music while you ride, you will want lowers or the dual 6 x 9 lids. The duels are really nice but are very heavy and take up more bag space

Love the look! do you have to contend with much wind buffeting? That maybe a factor in your audio as well. Just a thought.
