Dang I still haven't figured out how to tune with a mic. I tried it with my iPad and Android phone and neither one seemed to be picking up the pink noise. Do either of y'all have a link to that cheap mic? I'm sure I could benefit a little from some RTA type tuning.
D1127 when I had those original screeching Motos I wound up making DEEP cuts in the mids but really not much on the highs. I've been riding more than tinkering lately but I'll try to remember to dig up a screenshot of my fairing tune. I don't know if it would be applicable to your setup or not but it wouldn't hurt.
It seemed to me once I tamed the howling vocals the highs didn't seem as bad as they did at first.

I was able to pic up with just my ipad 2 and seemed to pick up my pink noise playing just fine. Now how much I was able to glean from that data is another story. Only messed with it a couple times and made some adjustments. Hoping I can get back in there this weekend.
I used the Dayton with the Mobile app and it works good. I started using the UMIK-1 mic with the REW software on a Surface Pro.......the one thing I have picked up on is to run it out doors, and not inside a small shop

Thats a good idea. I did run mine inside the garage. Too much echo or reverb inside a garage.
Hopefully I can get some time in on the RTA again this weekend.
I am working on my setup this weekend as well with the RTA on the lids. I started using the REW software, and it has been a big learning curve for me
I downloaded a couple free RTA apps for my AA phone and my ipad 2. I wish I could get the mobile tools one, but its not supported on my older ipad nor my samsung phone.
@ MC
I thought the REW software was mostly for indoor venues, halls, rooms, etc. Are you having any luck translating that to outdoor soundscape?
Yes, there are a few setting to change . I compared the Mobile app to the REW and the results are close enough. Its great for scaling, DB readings etc. I also use the TrueRTA software, free unless you want the 1/3 octave scale......that is 35 bucks. For what I do, the Mobile app using the UMKI-1 mic or the Dayton mic is the ticket

This what I bought. The cable lets your setup flexible.
