Default remove amp

I replaced an HD Boom 6.5 HU with one from a CVO bike that had amps from the factory. The bike I'm putting it in does not have amps, so does the HU need to be flashed to remove that? Or can I do that in the settings?

thanks,
Paul

It needs to be flashed to match what you have installed. What prompted the replacement? Do you plan any other upgrades (speakers and amps)? That will impact the flash you will do.

The original unit was damaged and I replaced it with a known good unit from the guy who upgraded his CVO to the latest head unit. Current bike has only fairing speakers, and I do not plan to do any other upgrades.

I considered going the Sony 7000 route, but read some reviews about rain affecting those units.

thanks,
Paul

As I mentioned above you’ll need a flash to match what you have installed. You can get that from a Harley dealer, or from someone with a Techno Research Centurian (like a bike audio shop). I’m not sure what the flash is called but it’ll be a stock Harley flash and called something like “2 speaker / no amp” or maybe “4 speaker / no amp”. The dealer will know for sure.

Thanks, I'll check with my local dealer about getting that done.
