what model HU? All of them? What is it you dislike so much?
I think many compare the Boom units to car units that have more features. I never had a problem with the unit in my 15 SGS when I owned it, but Apple Car Play would have been nice.
The only issues with the old boom was the boot time. Hated how long it took. Then the nav boot time was even worse! I timed it one day....mine compared to my buddy's 19. No comparison. lol
The new unit is miles above the old one. I really do like it and its water proof. That alone would sway me from any aftermarket hu.
I didn't know Stinger had a head unit in the works. Does anyone have any links on it?
Also I just thought of something regarding the connections of the PPI unit. Is it possible that they want it to be able to fit the Metra double din inner fairing for the pre-Rushmore bikes? I don't know if the bezels are too different for it to fit or not.
I've been keeping an eye on their website for updates, they now have the MSRP up, it is $999.90 whew I don't know if I'm in for that price, it's going to have to be pretty good at that price point...

That's way overpriced considering they don't list ANY specifications at all and you still have to buy a SW interface kit. Sounds like cheap Amazon/Taiwan junk to me. That's more than the RF unit for the pre-Rushmore bikes cost that is purpose built and has great specs (and is also truly plug and play).
It does look to be a legit HU manufactured by Soundstream under their Reserve line. A HU from Stinger sounds cool. They have a few models up on their website for vehicles, same as Soundstream.
I’ve been hearing rumors of a Rockford HU but I gave up waiting on them, not to mention they will probably price theirs way out there.
if anything, the added competition will push Harley to do better.
