Default Sony 8000

Anyone who has the 7000 and is thinking of upgrading, the big screen and the fact that it sits closer to you and you can tilt it for a better angle is well worth it. All the old 7000 wires worked including handlebar controls. Just unplugged the 7 and dropped in the 8

I thought the 8000 had a 2 DIN screen out front and centered on a single DIN chassis whereas the 7000 had the screen mounted to the chassis and the chassis was in the top DIN slot (same as the stock HU). So this has the same form factor as the 7000 and the screen sits flush with the inner fairing opening?

no it sits in front of the opening, and it’s a two inch bigger screen. The screen and chassis are seperate so the screen can be adjust -10 degrees to +10 degrees, as well as up or down and in and out. Gives you a MUCH better viewing angle IMO

My bike tonight

That adjustability would be good for glare I bet and it does look good on a sharknose (but I'd think it'd get a bit in the way of the gauges on a batwing). Anyway, you're the first I've seen use the 8000 on their ride. Glad it worked out well for you.

Eh, with it sticking out like that and the chassis showing, just seems to look like an unfinished job to me. But I certainly couldn't put that on my bike. I'd be worried about water!

the chassis isn’t showing there’s a block off plate that goes over the back, and I have to swap it for the dash kit that blocks off the lower “din” portion of the opening. I have it, just had to get to work yesterday and didn’t realize i didn’t swap it until I put it back together yesterday LOL stupid mistake.
