Default Saddle bag speakers that SOLO RIDER can hear?

I know this has been beat to death but can't really find anything specific. I am trying to figure out a rear speaker setup for a 21 Street Glide Special. I am going to add a rear tour pak, more likely than not a chopped TP. I just like the sleek look and there is not much storage in the chopped TP to begin with so losing that to speakers is not wise. The biggest issue I am concerned with is being able to hear the saddle bag speakers running down the road at 70 plus. I am setting the bike up solo and yes I am adding amp to the rears and a decent speaker. Regardless, from reading most setups put the speaker pointing directly upward which is great for the passenger but the rider, not so much. I would think a saddle bag lid speaker setup that would for lack of a better word, tilt the speakers forward so they are aimed towards the rider would be a big plus and give me what I want.

All thoughts welcomed.

Peace out

To do this the bag speakers will have to overpower the front stage at low speed. I have Gz's in the fairing and Mmats 6x9 in the lids. I would not want to run my system tuned like you are asking. That said my system is load enough for my buddy to hear it @ 65 riding beside me.

Like fireball said, they would have to be MUCH louder than your front stage. You’re just going to lose them at highway speeds. I’ve had single 8’s in lids, in bags, dual 8’s in bags, 10’s in bags, and tons of power pushing them all. At 70mph, you can’t hear any of them or at least I can’t.

If you want more volume at highway speeds, you flat can’t beat good lowers. 6.5’s will be a night and day difference compared to just dash at highway speeds. 8’s even better.

Thanks, I don’t want to add lowers and adding bag lids does not appear to be the answer either. I’m adding a chopped tour pak that will be removable. I don’t want the king type wrap around back rest with speaker pods. Any other possible speaker options for forward facing speakers inside chopped tp?

Unless I missed it, you dont mention what you have up front currently. Is there a reason you want/need rear speakers? Most of any good sound will come from the front setup. You can hear some rears at highway speed, but as others have said its mostly lost.

Since you dont want to add lowers, a good amp and fairing speakers would get you all the sound you need to hear at any speed.

Since you're doing a tour pack and want rear stage you can hear going down the road. This will fill the order.

Many thanks for the options. I am going to be running a 2 into 1 Krome Werks and by nature, they can get a tad loud like the D&D so I am taking that into account with a sound system along with the fact I like LOUD and clear. Just a personal preference.

This is what I did for a customer that wanted more of a stealth look.

this is why i prefer the flashes that include the fader, it works great for adjusting my lid speakers while riding.

Are you not using a dsp? What flash are you using?
