Default Volume question

Having a difference in volume when I use Bluetooth from my phone versus FM volume. Its noticeably lower using Bluetooth. Would it be better if I used the 3.5 mm plug to the the phone from the radio? I have a 40 dollar gift certificate from the dealer that would cover the cost of it. I know it would need to be flashed to work. Thinking of having them flash it to make the passing lamps work with high beam any way. 2020 ultra all stock if that helps

vs. FM on your radio? Do you have the volume on your phone turned up?

vs. the FM radio on your head unit? Make sure the volume on your phone is turned up as that will affect the volume of Bluetooth

If the volume on the head unit is the same level on fm and the same for Bluetooth with the phone turned all the way up there is a difference in the volume. Just wandering if the Bluetooth causes the volume difference. Thinking maybe a direct connection might resolve it. Volume level on fm is ok for the now but is definitely not ok with Bluetooth.

^^this. All my sources have different volumes (FM/SXM/USB/BT) and the HU won't "remember" the differences so you always have to mess around with the volume everytime you change sources. Usually not a huge, crazy difference but it's definitely there.

One thing that has tripped me up with Bluetooth before was EQ settings on phones. If you have an equalizer setting on your phone (most Android phones do) make sure it is set to flat. If any of the EQ sliders are above 0 it will lower the overall volume output of the phone. I guess the reason being if you raise a slider above 0 it can't go above maximum volume so it in effect "lowers" all the other sliders to allow that one to "shine through".

On my older head unit bluetooth is still not as loud as the other sources but when I learned that EQ trick the difference wasn't as bad.
