I currently have the HD Boom 6.5GT HU with Mmats in the fairing, Rockfords in the lids (at some point will upgrade those to Mmats) and Stinger spx700x4 amp.

I do listen to FM quite a bit so I am a little concerned losing FM reception. I also stream from my iphone so it just depends but we have some good rock stations here in Austin, TX, With my current setup I have no issues with FM reception.

Thanks for the update regarding your experience with the new HU.
I haven't addressed the FM with anybody because for me it's a non-issue. Shortly after putting the radio in I put 2 really short antennas on and haven't turned to FM.

Once you put an amp in you most likely won't have FM anyway. so you might want to think about that.

What are your thoughts on the SSR, are you happy with it any complaints, I have the sony XAV5000 and got caught in a storm and now it only boot cycles and turns off. Looking to upgrade but have read the 7000 isnt very good in wet conditions.

it's the one thing I haven't been able to make work, but like you I don't usually listen to it. Just annoying static when I hit FM on the source

I have the H-D hidden antenna which worked fine on the 6.5GT inFRUSTRATION system and my Sony 7000, but with the HDHU14+ I can get one AM station to tune and that's it.

Tried all the various location (America, Europe, South Wherever) but doesnt change a thing. Figured the antenna and the radio don't play nice together

I just installed mine last night. It was plug and play with my RF tm400x4ad amp. The sound is so much cleaner, more full and louder, than my GT h/u. I’m extremely impressed with it! I never realized how good my Polk mm692’s were, until now. It feels like I have a subwoofer. It was a pleasure being able to get rid of the two Biketronics BT355’s. No need for them

it's really a non issue for me, but I noticed that my unit will not keep the date accurately, if I haven't ridden in a few days to a week, it loses the day, for instance, it's been over a week since I rode and I took the bike for a quick rip yesterday after installing my Pro Action fork kit, the date showed 5/06/2022, the time always stays accurate...

hmmmm does the bike keep an accurate date n time when not used?

my ladies street bob loses its d&t regular and has done since ownership…never touch the battery and our bikes live on optimates when not in use

Does background and eq change also? (wondering if your constant 12v wire is to blame)

Got mine working in the police bike. Added some lighted hand controls as well. I added those so I’d have volume controls but with that I lost my horn and passing lamps. The passing lamps were wired to use what was the strobe switch so no I’ve got to do some chasing of wiring. Anyway, the stereo works.

looks nice! how bright are the lighted controls? I've been eying them, but read somewhere, here maybe, that they are not worth it, as you can barely see the lighting...
