Hey guys looking for some help or suggestions here?? I did an install for a friend on her 2021 Road King a few months back. System consists of a SD 800.4 EVOX mounted in the saddlebag running only 1 pair of 6.5" GZ yellow baskets in the front lower fairings in 2 channel stereo "Not Bridged" with an NVX Bluetooth controller and all wiring by American Hardbag..........The problem is the Amp is getting so hot you can't even touch it!!................. 8 gauge Power and Ground directly to the battery.................Is this normal for these amps? What could be causing this? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated....................Thanks

Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated? I also noticed that SD apparently discontinued this model recently in the EVOX line so now that makes me wonder as well?
So let me ask this: Do the SD amps have a built in circuit that if they were to get to Hot they would go into protection mode and shut off?
been running 2 under the hood and I haven't noticed them getting hotter than normal. I have noticed the harder you pound the amps get warmer.
you having issues besides heat. is yours cutting out.
Good luck getting it replaced no response from SD when I left a message about my noisey 800x4.
I also have mine in the saddle bags with 2 6x9s in each bag.
