Is the normal for Mmats 6x9s in the lids? I ride my bike and it gets rained on more times then I like. 😂. But I like to ride and take trips. 2nd set of 6x9s in less then 3 years. First were Polk and the glue came off the magnet and it fell apart on a trip. Both sets I have bought are rated for water. These Mmats lasted almost 2 years. This is all the way around the speaker. Other side has about 3 starting to do it. I dont play my music that loud and I had it tuned by a professional and he set it, so it wouldnt blow the speakers, 20 below max volume. Can anyone tell me if this from to loud of music, poor quality speaker, to much rain? Now I need new speakers. Thought Mmats were quality and would hold up. Or did I just get a bad set? Anyone else have this happen? Any suggestions on better speakers? Thnx all
As said you can fix that I have done it in the past and lasted years. Without knowing the rest of your system I dont think anyone can recommend replacements.
These are not "marine grade speakers". The are "marine treated". Big difference.
hope your not playing the speaker while it's wet.
If you're a big rain rider, I would take a look at these for longer durability. I have not personally heard the 6x9's. but I have installed the 5x7's and they sound pretty damn good and they are available in 2 and 4 ohm. I'm assuming they won't be as loud as the mmats, but you have choose on what you want: Loud and not marine, not as loud and marine. Can't get both. Pro audio speakers play louder, but they are not marine grade.
