The screen is gorilla glass, is this really necessary? I understand the protection a screen protector provides on a cell phone that gets abused daily but the only thing that touches the screen is me and my fingers aren’t all that sharp……
Has anyone scratched theirs yet that they want to tell us about?

I thought the same thing for the large 8 and 1/2 in screen in my 2020 ram truck. A couple of internet searches found where people screens were cracked by various things, so I decided to get a screen protector for my screen in the truck. Even though it's not a mobile phone, and hence a lot less abuse, it could be a benefit. And the cost of two or three screens was less than $12 delivered from Amazon.
If nothing else, it'll provide additional protection for the expense of Harley-Davidson screen.
